JB WELD LIQUID WELD

SUITS ALL STEELS & CAST IRON

General Use of JB Weld

Bonding substrates - all metals, wood, hard plastics, glass and ceramics can be bonded together permanently. Wood can be bonded to metal for example.

The adhesive can be drilled, tapped, machined and ground, just like metal. It will fill cracks and holes. You can build up materials which have been chipped or damaged. For example, a broken propeller blade, chipped, a broken carburetor, a cracked Carter or engine block can be made good.

Directions to use: Adhesive weld

Preparing surface: Remove paint, primer, rust, etc. Surface for application must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease and oil. JB CLEAN AND PREP is ideal for this purpose. For the best weld, roughen surfaces to be welded with coarse sandpaper or file and remove any lose particles.

Mixing: JB Weld consist of two parts. Squeeze equal parts from each tube onto any clean disposable surface. Mix together thoroughly. A wooden dowel or paddle is a good mixing tool.

Application: Apply with putty knife, spoon, wooden paddle or other suitable tool. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. May be applied in an even coat, weld bead or extruded shape as needed. Wash hands after use.

Drying: Allow 4 to 6 hours for drying before handling. Allow to dry overnight (approximately 15 hours) before putting object to use. JB Weld works faster if used in a room with the temperature above 10ºC.

Speed-up drying: After JB Weld has cured for six hours, a heat lamp or light bulb placed near the weld will speed the drying time.

Important: In hot weather or in a very warm room let JB Weld set-up or dry about 15 to 20 minutes after mixing. This lets it thicken and prevents running or sagging. In cold weather a heat lamp or light bulb placed near the weld will hasten the drying time. Depending upon the application it may be necessary to tie or clamp the components you are bonding for 4- 6 hours during which time the adhesive sets. After setting, the adhesive will build up to full strength slowly for another 6-15 hours depending upon amount used and heat. The warmer it is the quicker the process, however applied heat to speed drying time should not exceed 80ºC. The more adhesive used the longer it takes to achieve full cure.

Each person will develop their own ways of using the adhesive to meet their particular needs.

Features and benefits: JB Weld is a premium product. There are competitive products but none have all the following qualities:

We call our resin epoxy steel for a very good reason, it contains nodular iron and atomized steel i.e., very fine particles of new iron and steel. This is one of the reasons for the immense strength achievable and temperature resistance. Other brands often contain a putty filler which you cannot machine or use in demanding applications.

The adhesive has a tensile strength of 1800PSI making it a structural adhesive. Anything over 1000PSI is considered structural. This enables the end user to make permanent repairs instead of using mechanical, soldering or welding methods. In return, he can save time and money.

The product withstands temperatures of 300ºC and often higher. This enables an end user to use JB Weld in and around engines, machinery etc. In fact this is one of the reasons for its suitability in automotive applications. Other commonly available adhesives often do not withstand more than 100ºC or less.

The adhesive will not shrink while it cures/dries. Shrinkage in other adhesives is common and can be a severe draw back in many applications where precision is vital.

The adhesive, once cured, is totally resistant to water, oil, petrol, diesel and most chemicals such as battery acid. The product is non corrosive and non conductive. This means that you can use it as a circuit breaker and where corrosive chemicals will be present. Many other adhesives fail in such situations.

JB Weld is virtually odorless making it user friendly and it prevents solvent abuse. In fact, the product does not contain solvents. It will never adhere to hands or fingers unlike cyanoacrylates/super glues. It washes of skin easily with soap and water. JB Weld Adhesive weld has a shelf live of 20 years, even after the tubes are opened. This means no wastage and therefore better value for money. We do not know of any other adhesive which makes this claim.

JB Weld is America's number one cold weld compound that has proven his unique quality under the most extreme conditions over more then twenty years, not only in the industry also millions of households gratefully use the endless applications of JB Weld.

The Story Behind JB Weld Company

Over twenty years ago we started making JB Weld and sold it to automotive machine shops and engine rebuilders in small plastic containers for repairing internal heat cracks and outside freeze cracks. Since those days we have put the same fine material in tubes for longer self live and sell it packaged in a nice display blister pack that holds two one ounce tubes, or packaged in a handy carton box holding two five ounce tubes.

JB Weld contains a specific mixture of fine steel in a liquid base. We use super strength chemical for a carrier and activator that causes the super hard finish after the curing process. JB Weld etches other materials that helps the metallizing process to bond tighter and adhere forever. This etching allows JB Weld to commingle with other materials causing a near perfect weld. Many machine shops still use JB Weld for repairing cracked motor blocks and other castings, because of its tougher qualities and it will not shrink and is not affected by petrol, oil, water and most other chemicals including battery acid! JB Weld is America's number one cold weld compound that has proven his unique quality under the most extreme conditions over more then twenty years, not only in the industry but also the millions of households gratefully use the endless applications of JB Weld.

JB Weld Testimonials

For nearly 30 year the happy, grateful stories have been coming into the JB Weld Company. Testimonials from auto mechanics, body shops, building maintenance personnel, handymen, do-it-your-selfers, homeowners, crafts and hobby enthusiasts, sportsmen, plumbers, farmers, boat owners etc., people involved in just about every kind of work and play you can imagine. And the message they share is: "Thank you for saving us a lot of time, work and money with JB Weld".

Here are a few statements from JB Weld users:

"I'm a welder by trade but find J-B WELD works better and easier on many jobs, like fixing the neck on my truck radiator. I wish other people knew how much J-B WELD could save them!"

"I've tried practically every repair kit on the market. For radiators, gas tanks, water pumps, mufflers, etc. J-B WELD is without a doubt the best. Anyone who uses it will be just as amazed as I was. You have no competition."

"My motorcycle had a gas tank leak. The dealer said it couldn't be fixed and I would have to get a new tank. A hardware store told me about J-B WELD - and it did the trick! For a few dollars investment I saved $325. J-B WELD is not a gimmick product-it is one that works!"

"The rock in our yard would have made a nightmare of digging post holes for a fence. So we used J-B WELD to bond wooden posts upright to an existing sidewalk. J-B WELD gave us a strong fence, saved hundreds of dollars and many extra hours of hard labor!"

"I own a dragster. During a competition the cylinder head cracked. I didn't have time to repair or replace it so I filled the crack with J-B WELD. Well, I made my time trials and took second place! The head still works great and I'm not going to order a new one."

"My pickup threw a rod and tore a hole in the block. I plugged the hole with large washers bolted together and sealed it with J-B WELD. That was over 50,000 miles ago, still with no loss of oil. Thanks for your remarkable product!"

"J-B WELD saved our fishing trip. Our trailer had punched two holes through the hull. No welder was available and we were about to go home when a mechanic gave us some J-B WELD. It completely cured the problem-not one leak in 12 days!"

They needed to fix something quick, good and cheap. Welding or soldering wasn't the answer because that can cost $100s or $1000s and involve considerable down time. Besides, many times a hot- weld repair isn't possible anyway. And scrapping the damaged item may not be acceptable because it's 'special', irreplaceable, an heirloom, or the cost of new parts or a replacement is just too high.

JB Adhesive weld is the world's finest cold weld compound. It's a remarkably easy, convenient and inexpensive alternative to welding, soldering and brazing. It helps to fix many jobs fast, and for literally pennies! Like thousands of loyal users tell us, JB Weld is amazing in its versatility. They use it for repairs and maintenance from every-day household applications to heavy-duty jobs in the automotive, plumbing, industrial, chemical, marine and agricultural industries.

JB Adhesive weld is packed in two tubes. One contains 28g of liquid steel/epoxy resin and the other tube holds the 28g hardener. When they're mixed together in equal portions 1:1, a chemical reaction occurs that turns the mixture into a compound as hard and tough as steel. And with similar properties, plus a lot more!

You can use JB Adhesive weld as an adhesive, laminate, plug, filler, sealant and electrical insulator. It bonds virtually any combination of iron, steel, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, pewter, porcelain, ceramic, marble, glass, plastic, concrete, Fiberglas, wood, fabric, paper etc. just about any porous and non-porous material!

Saved Vintage Saw
I inherited my Dad's WWII era table saw, and proceeded to clean it up for use in the wood shop. During the process, I discovered a broken tilt table protractor(front trunnion), which allowed the table top to wobble. Used J B Weld to make the repair, and had success! Thank you for saving the saw.
